The Donald Trump Conundrum – 3 versions of his infamous statement

I cannot control my mouth - Donald Trump

I cannot control my mouth – Donald Trump

After Donald Trump spoke ad-hoc at his presidential announcement, he thought he was simply speaking the truth and not like a politician.  That people who differ from him are just plain “stupid” and he does not have a clue why so many were offended by his statements.

Then, after the severe backlash by the Latino community and most corporations that rely on that population, they fled away from him like a cowboy getting the hell out of Dodge City.  Still, Trump doubled down on those comments and insisted he was not talking about the Mexican people but to the government only.  But to anyone who listened to his statements, that is not how it came out at all.  So, he tried to clarify and clarify and say he “loves the Mexican people” to try to make nice with them.  It didn’t work and it will never work.

The bell cannot be un-rung. That is the power of words.  They are sharper than any swords, especially when it hits a nerve that goes after who you are.

And here is the proof.  I will show you an excerpt of the statement that Trump made at his hotel in NYC regarding ‘Mexico:’

“When Mexico (meaning the Mexican Government) sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you (pointing to the audience). They’re not sending you (pointing again). They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people! But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people. It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over South and Latin America, and it’s coming probably from the Middle East. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast.”

Now, if you read the words, he has wiggle room but we all know what he really meant.  To prove this, I am simply going to change the nationality and ethnicity to the Jewish People for my next example.  Lets assume that the Jewish voter block was significant to swing an election (which it is not).  Let’s see how this would play out.  Follow closely and read all the exact words with just substitutions from Mexico to Israel:

“When Israel (meaning the Israeli Government) sends its people, they’re not sending their best. It’s coming from more than Israel. It’s coming from all areas of Israel including the occupied territories, and it’s coming probably from the Middle East. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast.”

Ouch!!!!  For the Jewish folks out there, how would you feel about that statement?  Be honest!  To me, it would sound very anti-Semitic and I would suspect most American Jews would NEVER vote for this man.

Finally, lets really have fun now.  Just flip his words so he is the recipient listening to a presidential speech and trying to decide whether to vote for this person. Donald Trump’s nationality is part Scottish, part German:

“When Scotland (meaning the Scottish Government) sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you (pointing to the audience). They’re not sending you (pointing again). They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing their Scotch drunks. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people! But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people. It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over Europe and especially Germany, and it’s coming probably from the remnants of the Nazi Party. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast.”

Now imagine Donald Trump listening to this candidate on stage insulting his parent’s countries and associating his descendants as rapists, drunk from Scotch, and murderers.

This is why Trump in uniquely unqualified to be President of the United States.  He is either the most “stupid person” in the world (which he is not), or he does not understand first grade math that alienating the Latino vote which guarantees a general election loss, or he is a fraud and he has another motive for entering the race that is beyond my comprehension.

So, do you think Donald himself would vote for this person?  If you do, I have a Trump Tower to sell you.
